Fergus proposed I research and write an essay of approximately 2,500 words to be finished by the end of September.

‘In The Garden’
Fergus had a good understanding of how an action might work. In his clear and specific proposal he wrote, “The basis of the essay should be the garden in film … The essay would deal with eight (this is important) films where a garden is significant”.

We agreed I would keep him up to date with films I was viewing. He would view them too.

In the coming weeks the essay will appear as a small booklet distributed in some of Dublin’s public parks and gardens.
